Looking to Put New Tires on my Rogue...Any suggestions?

Hello All :

Well it getting to be that time. The original factory tires are getting low on tread. I do lots of Skiing and want some more meat on the tires this winter. Any suggestions from anyone who replaced the factory tires? My original equipment was Dunlop GrandTrek ST-20's 225/60-17's. I was looking at some of the following on TireRack.

- Yokohama Avid S
- Pirelli P4 Four Season
- Dunlop Signature
- Continental ProContact.

What did you decide on? I can say that a friend of mine put Yokohama tires on his Toyota MR2 and hated them. Said they would hydroplane on the slightest amount of water.

I went with Hankook Optimo H727's from Tire Rack. They were highly rated, good price and a rebate as well. We'll see how they do in the Snow. So far so good in the rain and normal driving. They are quiet with good traction and stopping. Time will tell.

Smile Michelin HydroEdge Tires for Rogue

I am planning to put Michelin HydroEdge tires on my 2008 rogue with 37,000 miles on it. Michelin says they are only rated for 118 MPH, which is fast enough for me. Does anyone have any thoughts on these tires? Clearly, they are designed for rotation in one direction. Which way should they be installed?

I have stuck with yokohama tires for years. They only last 1/2 the milage, but I buy them thru Discount Tire. With the prorating, I get about 1/2 the value towards the next set of tires. So, I don't mind.

They stick better than any other tires I have ever owned. So, I live with the lack of longevity. And, it doesn't matter to me with the prorating.

When my stock COntinental tires wear out, I'll probably go with the Yokohoma Geolanders instead of the YK520s I have been getting for years. I'll give those a shot just to see if they get a little better distance on the longevity.

Thumbs up Bridgestone tires

Have Bridgestone Turanza EL42 on my 2008 SL AWD and could not be happier.
Size is 225-60-17 and seems to wear good with little road noise which is important to me.

Tires that are unidirectional have an arrow on the sidewall indicating the direction of rotation.

how did you make out with the Hankooks? If these stock Dunlops last 25k I'll be amazed.
