08 Rogue Transmission Issues

I have an 08 with 65k miles on it...Whenever the engine has a load on it (usually after about 60 miles or a major incline) it will not go over 2900 RPM's i can hit the gas but it will just hit that mark and will not go any further..also when this is happening i will pull of the highway then the car wont respond to the gas and then just kicks in all of the sudden, The worthless dealer cant duplicate the failure so they aren't doing anything..anyone have this happening? Thanks

The CVT Trans is going into "limp mode" to protect it from damage. The ultimate cause is tough to say for sure, it could be a failure of the CVT itself, a sub-component such as various internal solenoids, the CVT valve body, OR it could be as simple as a failed switch in the brake which communicates to the Transmission Control Unit when you apply brakes. If this switch fails, the CVT and TCU get "confused" and this can throw the CVT into "limp mode", but there would definately be a code for the dealer to pull if this was the case.

Regardless of the specific cause, there should be a code in the ECU that the dealer should be able to quickly pull and diagnose the cause.
