I bought a 2010 Rogue in March and have slowly developed this problem: Sometimes the car fails to move when stepping on the gas. At first it happened only a couple of times but has become dangerous. For instance, if stopped on a hill or at a red light, when it is time to move the car doesn't move at first and then eventually kicks in. This is pretty scary since it feels like someone will hit me from behind if they aren't paying attention! The dealer thought it was some kind of valve problem in the transmission, fixed the valve and then said the problem wasn't fixed. Now they will be replacing the whole transmission in a 2010 car! I am worried this is only the start of more trouble.....any advice???? anyone else have this type of transmission defect??? THANKS!!!

Recall I haven't had this problem (I'm very happy to say). I took my 2010 Rogue in for its first oil change. The service manager asked if I had time for a recall. I asked what it was for and he said an update to the program for the transmission. I said yes. I have a FWD. I've heard others having problems with AWD.

| My advice is it's under warrenty so don't stress. Nissan is a great corporation and build quality vehicles. I have the first year (04) Nissan Titan and it now has 130,000 miles on the odometer and yes it went in for service a couple of times after I bought it but has been bullit proof since.

rogue transmission reply to songstowrite. Having the exact same problem and feel the same way, scary. In the shop now they say can't find nothing wrong. I'm going to take your reply to them. See what happens. The problem happens random so was afraid dealer would say what they said.

I purchased a 2010 rogue. after 200 mi. it needed a new CVT transmission. This was only determined after replacing a,"coupler", rear differential, and after bringing in an"engineer from Nissan they installed a new transmission. This noise came back though not as often. I feel that it is happening more and more frequently. I brought the car to Nissan and the mechanic said that the noise/vibration is normal. In fact my rouge," actually made less noise than the three he drove for comparison after replacing my transmission. Should I be happy about this? As for Nissan Consumer affairs(LOL). They came just short of telling me to pound sand. I'm fit to be tied here. Any ideas/input. Thanks, Basskitcase

Transmission problem reply to songstowrite. I have exactly a same problem. Sometimes I'm pushing 2000 RPM and car doesn't realy move 5-10 sec. I've calledthey multiple time to NISSAN and opened case, sent me to the dealer, but I had to come back again.

I have a 2009 Rogue with 48 000 kms (+/-32000 miles) I started taking it to my mechanic because I don't trust the dealer. He found the small transmission pan had a weepy gasket. Not a drip, just fluid seeping out. I dropped it off at the dealer. They washed the pan and said they could not find the leak and to bring it back in a couple of days. I do. Half an hour later a lady calls and says my transmission is shot, don't worry it is under warranty. Two weeks later a brand new transmission is installed. When I ask why the gasket wasn't just replaced her reply was "We do not service transmissions here" Any problem at all is a new transmission. If they don't work they will replace it. I am worried.

I had the same problem with mine. so at 5,000 miles the dealership replaced my transmission. the problem is now, i do NOT trust this vehicle. what if it stalls again and i get hit! The "customer satisfaction" Representative informed me, after realizing how ticked i was, that if it happens again he will start back buy back papers on the vehicle. it sounded good at the time, but now Ive read that the buy back program basically gives you trade in for the vehicle and you have to buy another nissan! why would i do that?! ugh, i wish i never bought this vehicle! oh and dont get me started on the airbag off light flashing when i hit bumps! this thing is probably gonna be the death of me- literally! ![]()
