I received a letter about the CVT recall about two weeks ago. I had an appointment yesterday for this and an oil change. I mentioned to the service manager about other possible recalls and he told me that there are 3. He ran my VIN and found that each of the recalls applied to my Rogue. They fixed all three problems in under 2 hours. The first recall is for the reprogramming of the TCM and ECM and performing IAVL. The second recall is for the steering gear housing cover screw that may have been manufactured incorrectly. They made sure that the screw was tight and installed a lock plate. The third recall is for the valve stem nut that may corrode and crack. This nut secures the TPMS sensor to the wheel. The TPMS nut was replaced with a corrosion resistant one. There wasn't a recall for my vehicle for the one mentioned in the previous post about the door mechanism. I will say that there was a noticeable difference in driving after the reprogramming of the CVT. It was much smoother. If you haven't received any notice from Nissan about these recalls, just contact the service department of your dealership and ask them to check for you.

Hi All, I was at the Nissan dealer, they checked for all recalls and found out that there are two of them available for my Rogue 2008: CVT reprogramming and something with steering gear. I dropped the car and when came back they told me that the transmission needs to be replaced with the remanufactured one at no cost for me (Nissan takes all expenses) due to some noises in it. Frankly speaking I don't hear any noises, everything seems to be ok, but I agreed as it is for free and I'll get new CVT fluid in it. I've made an appointment for the next week. We'll see what's gonna happen...

64, 000 miles I'm the third owner, only 1,000 miles are mine, I've just bought this vehicle. I also faced a problem once when the car stopped reacting to the gas pedal and did not accelerate more than 3,500 RPM, but then it passed by itself... I drove from AZ to CA 350 miles and everything was ok. I've been browsing through forums today all day long... omg... I regret I bought this car... I had just exactly the same symptoms with lack of acceleration everybody else does... Will see what's going to change in car behavior after that CVT replacement.

I've found the information that Nissan extended the warranty period for CVT transmission for certain models, including Rogue 2008, to 10 years or 120,000 miles.
