I bought a rogue in march and this week the dealer is planning to replace the transmission! This is not because of weird noises, but because sometimes when the engine idles (on a hill or stoplight) the car doesn't move when stepping on the gas. They said it was some kind of valve and instead are replacing the entire transmission. Has anyone else had this problem? Any suggestions?

Honestly, this car was great up until the 25,000km mark. and you can hear the noises between 45-60km/hr...............Its just very frustrating for us because it feels like the manufacturer is not honoring the warranty and is still selling these crossovers and it KNOWS that there is a problem with the transmission that they cant figure out....... Buyer Beware, it might not have the sound right now.. but it will come

Rear differential My 2009 Rogue SL AWD(14,00 Kl) ws making grinding noise when turning in the parking lot etc. Took it to dealer said that TSB RA09 - 004 addressed the situation, apparently premature engagement of the electronic coupler. I was on vacation and the delaership I brought it to did not have the part(s) in stock. Tried to bill be $60.00 for diagnosis which I refused to pay. Called my closest dealer when I returned and the service lady was not aware of the TSB or heard of the problem (great communications). Now I have to drive it 60 miles to have it diagnosed again and who knows how many trips I will have to make to have this rectified. Needless to say I am not a happy camper! I hope this is not an omen to any future problems I may have to address with my warranty!!!

Something needs to be done. I purchased a 2010 rogue. after 200 mi. it needed a new CVT transmission. This was only determined after replacing a,"coupler", rear differential, and after bringing in an"engineer from Nissan they installed a new transmission. This noise came back though not as often. I feel that it is happening more and more frequently. I brought the car to Nissan and the mechanic said that the noise/vibration is normal. In fact my rouge," actually made less noise than the three he drove for comparison after replacing my transmission. Should I be happy about this? As for Nissan Consumer affairs(LOL). They came just short of telling me to pound sand. I'm fit to be tied here. Any ideas/input. Thanks, Basskitcase

Mine was replaced within a few weeks of buying it brand new. Now it has roughly 40K miles on it and it is having to be replaced again. The noise sounds like a ping to me. I don't speed and so often go at low speeds. The pointi it becomes unbearable and dangerous is when it doesn't want to accelerate at all in a responsible manner (not full speed ahead, peddle to the floor acceleration). Think stop sign, turning left in traffic and just not being able to go anywhere. Both times the problem got its worst, the car also wouldn't consistently start with the remote (but would with the manual key). Also, the RPM gauge seems to have a mind of its own while one drives on flat surfaces at steady speeds even. I loved my Rogue - but three transmissions on a vehicle that isn't even a year old? This just isn't right.

this is what im afraid of on mine! although my transmission was replaced (at 5,000 miles) what is to stop the next one from doing this!! i hate this vehicle! i dont trust it and dont want it anymore! their solution is if it happens again, buy back program. where i will lose i dont know how much cause it is only trade in value and forced into buying another nissan- no thanks!
