rear shock noise

Before we bought a 2011 Rogue, we test drove about 4 of them, and i had been in my buddies 09 Rogue several times.
All 6 of them exhibit a noise in the rear end that sounds like bad shocks.

Now obviously they cannot all be bad, so it must be a natural trait of the rogue.

Anyone notice this ?

Someone else pin pointed out a sound inside by the rear like a small rattle sound. He said it was the rear seats clips. He got them changed by the dealer cause his were defeacted. Read up on some of the discussions I'm sure you'll find the answers you need.

interesting. I'll look into that. If the same part was used on all of them, and it would, that could be the cause.

Thanks.

I don't know if you ever fiqured out the rear shock noise but mine was doing it after a month of having my 2011 model and the dealership says it was a broken strut mount on the rear passenger side. It sounded like a bad shock sound, well about a month of getting it replace I swear I am hearing the same sound again. I dont know if they received some defective one but I will again have to take the car in.

i do hear excessive strut noise from the rear, but i equate this to the fact that its an SUV.
most cars have the struts mounted directly behind the rear bench seat- thus sealing off most of the noise, but we have the rear hatch exposed, thus increasing the road noise.

i know the way it drives & handles & its compact interior often times makes it feel like we are driving a regular sedan, but infact its an SUV.
An SUV with tighter suspension to prevent body roll, an SUV with larger meatier tires that add loose gravel grip but increase road noise, and a fully open cabin that increases the noise level inside.
