Nissan Rogue Recommended Fluids

Below is the Recommended fluids from Nissan and be sure to note that "you do not want" to use regular old Transmission Fluid in your Rogue,
Using transmission fluid other than Genuine NISSAN CVT Fluid NS-2 will damage the CVT, which is not covered by the NISSAN
new vehicle limited warranty.

Just the CVT fluid. It seems important to use only the Nissan product.

For the others, it is written Genuine Nissan product OR...

now i'm kinda confused. Do I change my oil regularly and change CVT fluid? or CVT fluid replaces the oil?

The CVT fluid is for the CVT and just the CVT. It has to be changed at the 30.000 miles interval (take a look at this thread oil change interval). It is better to be done by Nissan as you can use only the Nissan CVT fluid.

For all the other fluid inspections and changes, you can either do it yourself or make it done by Nissan. the intervals depend if you are in severe use mode or normal use mode (see other thread for that too).

4 and 7/8 quarts of oil?

Two questions:

Would 5qts be too much?

Would using synthetic oil be a good or bad idea?

My personal view on this:
Just did my first oil change and put all 5 quarts in it. Next oil change will be with a 5l jug and planned to put everything in it. Never heard of any problem with a little bit of overfilling, but heard about problems with not enough oil.

As for the oil quality, it depends on what you are doing with your car. I have been told by the dealer service department that they put Esso conventional oil in it as the factory fill.

So you can still put conventional oil if you want or move to synthetic.
For my part, since I planned to change my oil every 6 months (normal service use), it depends how many kms I planned to do in this interval: not that much= conventional oil, quite a lot= synthetic blend, a lot= full synthetic.
For now, it is synthetic blend in it for the next 6 months as I will probably do about 10.000kms of mainly highways with my car. I planned to do an oil analysis after 4 months or 8.000kms to see how is the oil.

That is my 2 canadian cents.
