Rogue Air Filters

I've been told mu '08 Rogue has several air filters that require replacement from time to time. How many filters are there and what's the replacement schedule?

Just had my 15K Mile maintenance done and they told me that the two filters were due for replacement according to the schedule. There is the engine air filter and the cabin air filter (dust and pollen in the passenger cabin). I chose not to have them replaced since I've been watching the engine air filter and it's clean and fine. But not sure how to get at the cabin filter but plan on finding out and will post when I do. This is an area best left to the owner in my opinion but then again I’m a do-it-yourselver that keeps in eye on things like this.

The cabin air filter is not so well placed for a DIY but you can still do it:
It is on the driver side, in the center console, close to the accelerator pedal.
You have to remove the side panel to get access to it. It is said in the FSM that you have to disconnect the gas pedal to access it but in reality, most people reached it without doing that, just by bending the filter a bit.

I have yet to do it, so let us know how it went.

Inside the cabin filter box is included an instruction, you don't have to disconnect the gas pedal, the filter is very flexible. The only thing I was worried the first time I took that cover off, no screw.

If you scroll down on this page, there are some pics on how to replace the cabin air filter.

Cabin air filter...: Rogue Forum: Nissan Forums / Infiniti Forums - NICOclub

Any Toronto area owners have any idea where to get the both air filters Engine (K&M)& Cabin? I can't find them anywhere other then online and with shipping + duties, I'm not saving much.

Thanks for the link to the pictures, those and the YouTube video will give you good instruction how to do it... I just took me 5-10min to do... the filter was changed after 39k and it was dirty.. will change it each year from now on... it cost me not more than 20US$...

Thanks again...!

I just replaced my engine air filter with this one SUREFILTER BRAND air filter for Nissan. After one tank of gas I'm allready seeing an improvement in fuel economy.

engine air intake filter every 15-25k is fine = depending on travel: dusty roads, etc)

cabin air filter
every 15-30k is fine = depending on the in-cabin smell: is it nasty, musty, does it give you allergies, etc.
Also depends where you park: directly under tree's? in the woods? etc

oil filter
every 3500-7000 is fine = depending on type of oil used, and driving conditions: towing, uphills, hot climate, etc

The OEM air filter had a fine layer of oil on it. I know that's common on high end reuseable filters, but was surpised to find it on the OEM.

it could have been the blow-by gasses. blow-by, which occurs when some of the gases from the combustion leak past the piston rings to end up inside the crankcase. For environmental protection, escape of oil and gases must be prevented via a closed system that routes the escaping gases to the engine's intake stream and allows fresh air to come in. aka PCV VALVE.
my race-bike because of the high RPM's(18,000rpm) will make my air filter very oily lol
