RPM goes up

This only happens when I come to a complete stop after coming off the highway traveling at high speeds. I have no check engine light or smell just the rpm goes up to 1000 for about 1 to 2 seconds. Has anyone experience this with their Rogue?

yup that happens to me too-
i feel like its the electronic programing in the tranny to communicate with the engine ecu to expect you to pull off again and pre-loads the engine's rpm for the clutch-pack to re-engage.

i always say, when your too smart- you end up being pretty dumb.
i really think today's cars are way to intrusive and overly predictive.(often times being very wrong)
simple example: traction control! when im drifting or sliding, the last thing i want is the power to the wheels to be cut off. i want to control the drift myself, and maybe spin the car around even more to avoid a tree, or to loose some inertia- but no.... the ecu predicts wheel spin, and due to power loss i cant drift out of a nasty situation. every snow fall, i turn off traction control for that exact reason.

PS: what gixxer you got? i have an 07 gsxr600 as my track bike.

my girl has an 06 - R6.
i gotta say, on the street you really dont get an appreciation for Yamaha.
on the track i think every kawasaki, suzuki, honda get schooled quickly regarding yamaha power. my first day on the track with my stock gsxr600 i could not keep up with a single yamaha.

that was then, after installing a mapped power-commander 3, scorpion cat-less exhaust, k&n filter, my sponsor Vortex supplied me with a +2 rear sprocket, Spiegler Stainless Steel Brake Lines, Removed the Exhaust Servo, my sponsor ASV got me short levers, and couple other odds & ends including full race bodywork i think i can finally keep up with stock R6's LOL

I'd have to say for a track bike probably the R6 would be better over the R1. But on the highway The R1 is the bike to have. I rode my friends R6 once coming back from White Plains I was going thru gears to keep up with the 1000's. While they took it easy on 4th gear.

without a doubt, 600's will almost always spank a 1000c on the track for the simple reason of wheel-base, weight, and the agility the 600 bikes have.

but if you were to get the best all around bike for the track the 750 will be the #1 bike you can have. the wheel base and size of a 600, weight of a 600(give or take a few pounds), yet the power to weight ratio of almost a 1000cc

[im not a fan of the ducati 848's which are in the class of a 750- but they dont rev high. you have a very powerful power-band thats low in the rpm range. idk, just not my cup of tea]

(this is a map of NJ Motor Sports track: thunderbolt)

the spots i had the hardest time keeping up with the R6's was right after turn 7 & 14.
1000cc's would blast away without incident on any straightaway.

That track looks awsome. You must have a blast when you're there. Back in 98 three of us bought the 750 SRAD. One of the guys took it on the track in poconos with another one of our friends who had a Ninja ZX9. They both raced each other on the track. The SRAD was great in the turns but on the straight away he had a hard time staying infront of the ZX9. One day he put a full exhaust and power command. And that was it he was the fastest on the track. So to what you said earlier the 750 would be perfect as a track bike. But again on the R1 its a very light litre bike with alot of power. The weight on the R1 is a little lighter than the 98 600 SRAD I sold. And the R6 I rode from my friend was even lighter. Too light for me. It has alot of power, but enough as the R1.

All this talk of bikes is making me depressed. Someone broke into the shed and stole my 11 zx6r yesterday. It is brand new still, just bought it in June and it had 500 miles on it...just changed the oil and put it away for the winter a couple weeks ago.

I got a police report and called my insurance last night. I'm glad I have comprehensive and gap on it.

This month has been horrible; my brother was murdered on the 2nd and now this
