Smile Hi folks!

Just ordered my new 2011 Rogue SL AWD with nav last monday, in Carbon Silver. Currently awaiting delivery. ETA: unknow, the lovely people at the docks in B.C. are currently on strike, therefore my car is delayed. No worries I am a patient man!!!

Have been looking at a few forums and decided to give it a try so here I am, while I am here, does anyone now where I could find a chrome window trim kit, but without the pillars? I kind of wanna re-create the look of the Infiniti EX35 window contours.

I included a picture of the look I am targeting to achieve, any feedback or help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers!!!

Don't know how you fell about getting stuff off eBay, but I've seen lots of chroming accessorizing parts listed. I did a quick search but the kits I found included the pillar posts. U-shaped flexible edge trim molding can be found in many car parts stores.

Smile First Impressions & care

Hummm...first impressions... It's extremely smooth, the engine is rev happy when accelerating, good gas mileage, very spacious, can haul a ton of stuff with the back seat and the passerger seat folded down.

After a month it still smells like a new car. i love the look of the car with the 18" mags, would just love to refine the look with chrome contour around the windows. Some of my colleagues at work asked me if I bought an Infiniti, which makes me chuckle, but to the untrained eye, it could very well be from the Infiniti lineup.

Everything about it so far I love, I will convert the oil to synthetic when it is up for it's first oil change, in 3800 clicks, since I have read somewhere it improves gas mileage.

Great after sale service from my dealership as well, very curteous & friendly. Only bump in the road so far is that I need to have the remote starter reprogramed as the keyless ignition is causing issues with it.

Other than that it has been smooth sailing. I am also within the month going to have the car "winterized" for our lovely weather here. 17" inch winter tires mounted on steel rims and a special wash & wax job to protect the body from calcium and the rust proofing was already done at the dealer. So I am all set.

Rust proofing at the dealership. Thought that one faded out in the late '90s. Car manufacturers dip the vehicle frame in a corrosion resistant bath, reducing the need for this dealer "option". I seem to remember a news expose a little over a decade ago on the dubious benefits of dealership rust proofing.

I agree that the benefits of aftermarket rustproofing are less than in the past, but I DO get the "environmental pkg" consisting of rustproofing, undercoating, paint sealant, and fabric treatment for $799. It helps fight off the salt and chemicals here in MN. I have had damage repaired under their warranty in the past.

IMHO most rust thru is caused by how the car is built-some door skins will rust quickly. Also depends on how you maintain the car.

Fully agree, but the winters are so harsh here and the amount of calcium used is really ridiculous. So any chance i can put on my side I will take. Car has been dealing well with the really wet weather we are having...and i am pleased currently with the Dunlop all season tires that came originally with the vehicule. Would you know of an even better performing tire? So i may chance when the time comes?
