| Heater & A/C controls Hi All. I'm a newby to this forum (or any forum for that matter). I own and love my '08 Rogue. However, I find the heater and air conditioning controls the most poorly designed I have ever seen, and I've owned a lot of vehicles! Dealer says my controls are working as designed. The main problem is that the a/c engages in a completely arbitrary way when the mode switch is moved from, say, floor vents to dash vents. The last thing I want on a cold winter morning is to have the a/c go on when I move the mode switch from dash vents to floor and crank up the temp knob. |

| The fact that the AC comes on doesn't mean that the air will be cold, you should revise what AC means in reality. The AC on means that the car is removing the humidity out from the car, and that is what you want when you put the defroster on. Since the last generation of cars, and now that they have a control loop avoiding ice building in the AC system, all cars comes with this feature in order to defog the car faster. When you move out of the defrost mode, the car lets you know that the AC is still on in case you want to keep the car dry and avoid fog to come back. If you want to take that risk, you just have to push the button to stop the AC, now that the car let you to do that. It is the same in every new cars for at least 5 years (my 06 Civic has that feature). |
