My first new vehicle

It was time to replace my '01 Explorer and the rogue seemed to fit my needs perfectly. I bought a '08 Rogue S AWD on thursday and picked it up friday and i'm been loving every minute I've had it.

Having had an Explorer, the first thing you'll with the Rogue is how quickly it responds to input. "Holy s##t! This little guy really moves out". Enjoy.

I testdrove a friend Mazda Tribute (which, I think, is the same truck as the Explorer), and yes, you will feel right away the difference: The Tribute (Explorer) is a truck, the Rogue is like a car.

I make the Tribute tires screamed in curbs where I felt confident going the same speed with the Rogue, far for making the tires scream.

As for power, you will find that, in traffic, changing lane has never been easier: Little push on the throttle, and bum you are gone, impressive.

Pes,
You're thinking of the Ford Escape. The Explorer is much bigger. I drove an Escape hybrid before buying the Rogue and it was the noisiest vehicle of all five other small SUVs I test drove.

Yup. It was the Navajo (discontinued long ago) that was a rebadged Explorer.

IIRC the Tribute is based on the 626 platform.
