Homelink Rear view Mirror (Garage Door Opener)

Does anyone know how much it would cost to have it installed? I recently bought a 2011 Rogue SV w/ SL package and was shocked to find out I didn't have a garage door opener.

I would check a local car stereo installation location. My guess would be $300.00. I checked her in SC and it was $400 - $500 with the mirror with a backup camera depending on if I wanted auto dimming or not. At that price I think I will wait and what else I can find.

Exclamation Homelink and compass

On eBay there is an original Nissan rearview mirror with homelink and compass for sale at less than $200.
I am tempted to buy this but not sure if I need some additional wiring and if this is available or even possible to hook this up and get it working so I will check the dealer in Grand Forks and check what they have to say.

I have a Gentex mirror which worked fine until I found that it didn't have the compass feature that I wanted. They installed one with a compass and now the Homelink won't go into learn mode, so it's back to the dealer. They take it 40 miles to the aftermarket place that does the work then they bring it back to me washed with a full tank of gas. If this keeps up I'll never need to buy gas again for it. I'm anxious to get it DONE since the dealer has put more miles on it than I have.

As I stated in another thread on this matter, they rewired the stinking mirror by cutting the wires at the windshleld area and taping them with electrical tape. I'd like to go over to the home of the guy who did this and cut and tape all his cable tv lines, USB cables, and network lines. NOT how to do the job properly but I suppose less labour than assigning the wires properly at the harness connections.

Well, after the survey I filled out I expect the dealer to be calling me anytime now. I want the mirror redone with a proper harness, IOW without any patches or splices. Seems reasonable to me.

Proper harness w/o splices due to be installed tomorrow. Clown had better do it right or I will go into orbit. If gasoline were brains these people wouldn't be able to power a piss ant around the inside of a doughnut. That's an old French proverb.

Repair completed to my satisfaction. No more spliced wires unless they hid them in the headliner...

However, car smells of coffee and there are spill marks on the door panel. I hate when other people drive my car.

I was pleased to learn, however, that the aftermarket installer lost their contract with this chain of dealers.

Tonight I have the inestimable pleasure of cleaning the door panel. I'll just take some milk of amnesia and forget about it.

I'll get some photos up tonight after work..........it would have been nice if they had put some shrink tubing over the wires. Maybe I'll do that myself assuming a hair dryer will provide enough heat to do the shrink. I suppose if I can't shrink it there's nothing lost. The stuff is cheap enough. I just don't want to put a match to it....
