...yeah, alot of times, my attempt at humor fails,
but trust me on this one, it was all said in fun, at
least it was meant that way....

The reason that its been difficult for ME to take
this seriously, is because....if this was a trunk or
a sealed, separate cargo area, then I agree with
your concern 100%....but, with the way our
cargo areas are designed, the chance of getting
"locked" in there and be unable to get out, is for
all practical purposes, non-existant or near
impossible...the odds on that happening is
infintesimal....If that happens, it was just your
time to go...imho. But, if this is a concern of
yours, I do respect that......sense of safety is an
individual thing....

haha.... your humor always makes me laugh.... especially as i sit here at work....
But no, it isnt really a concern... just a gripe i guess... i thought about that with my element too cause it didnt have an emergency release in the back. I just thought that with everything else they are thinking and adding to cars... ya know... bluetooth... garage door openers..blah blah that they would think about hatch emergency openers... who knows??? haha

Strangely enough, I think it found for you.
I was checking the owner manual for something else and find something about the lift gate release (in case of a discharged battery).

It is page 3-21 of the owner manual.

Is it what you were looking for?
