Excessive Vibration at 60 mph

Experienced severe vibration traveling at speeds of 55 - 70 mph. The entire vehicle was shaking, not just the steering wheel. I removed as much snow/ice buildup on the wheel rims as I could, thinking this may be causing an out-of-balance situation, but vibration was still occurring. I stopped by the Dealership to have them check it out. After sitting in the waiting room for awhile, they informed me that everything was OK and they did not find anything wrong. A test drive confirmed that the vibration issue was gone. They insisted they did not find any excessivesnow/ice build up. Has anyone else experienced "whole" vehicle vibration while driving?

I had the simular problem today. But the shake went away after the snow and ice were melt from the wheel wells.

Yup me too. Last Saturday after 31 cm fell, we drove down our road before it got plowed and the car shook like crazy on the highway after that. Its fine now.

Is this something specific to the design of the Rogue? I have never experienced this with any other vehicles I have owned.

Same here, shaking like crazy at 57 mph and up. We'd just had 8" of snow, followed by hours of sleet/freezing rain. Coincidently, I had an appointment for an oil change the next day. So, the dealer checked it out but found nothing. Oh, no, they're not giving me the brush off, I thought. So, I dragged the technician out for a ride. But, they were right, the problem was gone. Geez, I felt stupid. Glad there was no real problem, though. Wish I'd thought to ask if it's something unique to the Rogue.

This is from what I know from experience and may apply to Rogue owners with the 17" wheels.

Besides the Rogue I also have a 2006 VW R32 AWD. With that I installed 19"x10" deep dish wheels wheels on the car.

I had the same vibration experience at speed of 70-80 in the rain/snow. I did some research and turns out on how the wheels are design, that "water" some how stays in the wheel at those speeds and makes the wheel unblanaced causing vibration at high speeds. It is common on 17" and up wheels that are spoked type not wheels that uses hubcaps.

I haven't experience this yet on my Rogue since I got her yesterday, but I am guessing what I've said may apply.

I hope this maybe helpful

I've noticed that too. We've had about six different SUVs, the first being an "88 Trooper and the last being an '04 CRV. The Rogue is definitely the noisiest in conditions where snow builds up in the wheel wells. If the weather ever improves here in Iowa, I plan to spray sound deadening material in the wheel wells. This could possibly retard the snow/ice buildup also.

i dunno but for some reason i feel that they did not test this in a winter climate before making this a production vehicle...kinda an X in my book..
any car can drive well when there is no snow..

wheel vibration..

just an added note...(custom wheels vs steel
rims...)

this is not uncommon when you have wheels instead
of rims....the Honda CRV does the same thing when
snow or mud collects on the inside of the wheels...
so I really wouldn't fault Nissan for it...how do you
develope self-cleaning wheels?? I guess this is
one of the possible pit-falls of having custom
wheels so your vehicle looks good...
