| Man this thing is noisy ! 2011 SLAWD. Someone stated recently that you have to drive these things a while before noticing certain things. Well mine sounds sometimes like all the wheel bearings are shot. I'm about 99% sure its the low profile Dunlop tires, as the drumming noise changes with the road surface, but man, is there no carpet pad in these things ? I only have 8000 miles on this car, but i'm getting less and less impressed ! and don't let me get started on the lean mixture 35mph surging !! So, anyone have any ideas for noise control? I once stripped out a competition audio vehicle and applied dynamat everywhere, but I used a ton of it and it was expensive stuff. I would consider it on specific panels though i guess, if i could find the main culprits - Hmmm........ |

| The extra noise is from th open cargo area. A cover might help reduce the road noise Nissan Rogue Cargo Area Tonneau Cover - H4982-JM50B

| Low profile Dunlops? I don't have what I would ever call low profile tires on my 08, what size are your tires? Its a relatively low cost car with a large open storage area. Its going to be on the noisy side from the factory. My 08 is louder than my 3/4 ton Silverado and I cna assure its definitely not the tires. There just isn't enough sound absorbing mass. Toss in some anti vibe tiles and a layer of MLV over it. Dynamat is overpriced and covering every square inch is not necessarily optimal...just expensive. http://www.sounddeadenershowdown.com/cgi-bin/index.cgi The Audi we got rid of had acoustice wheel well liners, basically a sort of outdoor rated carpeting on the inside of each wheel well. One of them got loose and I took it out because it was the middle of winter and the interior noise jumped amazingly. It was still a quiet car inside, but a significant increase in road noise. See if you can find some wheel well lining to block some of the road noise. |

Initial Review, 500 Miles on Tires March 03, 2012 I replaced my factory tires after they lasted only 27000 miles with the Goodyear Assurance Comfortred Touring and my vehicle has new life again! Amazing quickness in response and excellent wet road stability. Recently had 50 MPH winds against the vehicle in the rain and it held the road like glue. I love these tires and so far don't regret getting them. When my wife needs tires for her Honda CR-V, I'll be strongly suggesting she get these.

| Guess it's all relative, but if you ever drove a Dodge Caliber as I have, with the stock crapola Firestoned tires, you'd depreciate how QUIET the Rogue is!! I don't skimp on replacement tires. The factory skimps on the OE tires.
