Temperature Sensor Location

My 2008 SL has the outside temp readout in the instrument cluster, but it doesn't work properly. The temp readout steadily climbs as you drive it so I think the sensor is getting too much warm air from the engine and not enough fresh air from the outside. The temp always starts out accurate when the engine is cold, but it'll climb a good 40 degrees on a 1-2 hour trip.

Can anyone tell me where the sensor is located? maybe I've just got some blockage somewhere...hope its not a dealer fix thing as my dealer is not my favorite place to go, even wiht the CPO warranty.

usually they are located on the hood support stay bracket / next to the horns by the radiator/condenser.
