What brand of 12 volt battery does

the rogue come with? Funny looking caps--also how long has your original factory battery lasted?

Dunno. Its an OEM battery and I don't know if Nissan gets them all from one source.

Most car batteryeis are good for about 5-6 years of useful life, but I've had 8-9 year batteries too.

At least they have removable caps so you can add water as needed. I always buy such batteries when replacing the OEM.

Didn't even know you could still buy those. Been driving for over 25 years and I have never topped off a battery ever...haven't seen a removable top on a battery outside of a hot rod or heavy commercial vehicle.

Interstate batteries makes them with removable caps to check the water level. I check my batteries every couple of months and sometimes I need to add water. If a sealed battery gets an overcharge and a cell gets dried up you'll never know. IMHO the ability to add water may add to the life of the battery. Can't hurt it. Or maybe I'm just old fashioned.

Four or five years sounds about right. I usually get Duralast or interstate.

I buy a new battery every 4 years whether I "need" it or not. That's the best way to avoid a dead battery. When it gets down to 25 below zero you need to have a relilable battery.
