The nissan dealer I work for uses a generic bulk 5w30 oil. Most of the maintainence schedules that come with nissans suggest every 3,750 for oil changes and tire rotations every 7,500 (unless synthetic is used)

I use syn 5-30

I change the oil every 3 months, or 5k miles. With the harsh winters in MN the thinner oil makes sense. I've used syn for 30 years. I have no brand preference.

I've thought about using it in the Rogue, but can't quite commit to it. Tried Synth oil in an '88 Dodge Colt, but it leaked like a sieve. May have just been the Mitsubishi engine in it. Someone told me their engines had a tendency leak oil especially if synthetic was used.

Mobil 1

We use Mobil 1 synthetic oil (5-30 weight) after 2nd oil change on dealer's recommendation on a 2011 Rogue-SV. After 15,000 miles on vehicle we notice an increase in gas mileage with the synthetic oil. Dealer oil changes every 7,500 miles & I bring in my own Mobil 1 at service time.

My sisters 07 sentra has used synthetic since the first oil change and she has no leaks and no issues really and she is over 90k. I can say I have done every bit of maintenance on it since she bought it. When I finally buy my rogue I will run Mobil1 5w30 in it.
