| OEM HID Color Anyone know the color temp of the stock HIDs in my 2008? The lows are HID and the highs and fogs are very yellow halogens. Not worth it to me to replace the highs and fogs with HID, but I would like to replace the halogen bulbs with something whiter like some Silverstars or Silverstar Ultras. Just want to get the best color match I can...the mismatch is annoying from the driver's seat, let alone outside. |

| I just installed the Sylvania Silversta Ultras. I predict a short and semi happy life for them. Save your $. They aren't white like the HID's, not even close, and I frankly can't tell any difference just looking at them on during the day. However, maybe at night there will be a difference. I will post when I find out.

| The Silverstars are about 4k. They don't last very long either, but I figured with the high beams I'd be good for awhile since I don't use them much. Still, I doubt I'll replace them with another pair of Silverstars. I'd check JC Whitney. They had some good white bulbs that lasted a long time.

| Interesting. Clearly more research is required. I use my hibeams all the time because the HID's have a very sharp cutoff (to keep from blinding oncoming drivers) and while they do an excellent job for about 50 feet or so in front of the car, I'm not feeling too safe driving at night without a bit more light further down the road. 40mph and no streetlights, 50-60 feet isn't going to cut it...gonna hit a deer. |

| I'd like to have the lows adjusted properly with the manual aiming control in the mid position. Then we could raise a hair and lower a hair. As of now, they are adjusted with the control in the full up position so the only change I can make is to lower them and I would like more flexibility. I don't recall seeing aiming instructions in the manual. I am sure it can't be that hard. Do you know how to adjust?

| I keep mine adjusted with the max throw on the dash control. The only way to properly adjust headlights is to go to a state inspection station (at least in MA) and do the alignment. There has to be some adjuster screws and I doubt in a car this cheap that they're auto adjusting lights, otherwise the knob wouldn't be there on the dash. I'll have to have a look tonight when I get home and see. I bet an equal number of turns of the vertical screw would help out a lot. Or put 100lb in the trunk to make the rear end squat. |

| I adjust my headlights by parking in the driveway and aligning the lights on the garage door. Works pretty good. We had vehicle inspection for a few years until Gov Jesse "The Body" Ventura did away with it. It was really a PIA and was only for emissions.
