Exclamation Better headlite bulbs.

Am very happy with my 2008 SL AWD but browsing the internet I find a lot of ads about headlite bulbs.
My Rogue has the regular headlites but I am wondering if there are better bulbs available and if anybody has changed up to a brighter one.
Thank you for any information on this.

If you're just running halogens, Sylvania Silverstars are about as good as it gets. If you have HIDs, leave em be.

My 2008 has HID's...it my first vehicle with HIDs, they're ok, but not all that great IMHO. For what its worth though, the last two cars had halogens, a 2002 Audi A4 and a 2000 Celica GT...the Celica had spectacular lighting.

I have an 08 S AWD and that I know of they didnt come w/ HIDs. I believe the only models that came w/ it were the SL.

I had them on my old Lincoln and they were pretty bright and safe on your wiring harness. Some others like PIAA require upgrading the wiring harness or the oem will melt.

Wow thats a first. I hear alot of people rave about HIDs. Almost everyone I know that has a car that didnt come with HIDs has upgraded to them. I'm still debating if to go with HIDs or just go the simple upgrade to Silverstars.

I always wanted the HID's so they were a must on my Rogue. I wouldn't consider other cars that didn't have them. I know I have OCD.

With the ballasts and wiring, I'd pass on adding the HID's unless you have a few bucks to spare. I'd go with the Silverstars. They are pretty good, but I'd keep a few spares on hand since many of those coated bulbs don't last too long. I ordered some "bright white" from JC Whitney and they lasted something like 7 years and were still good when I sold the car they were in (Dodge Caravan).

My MEH reaction to the Rogue HIDs is likely due to the fact that my last 2 cars with halogens had particularly good (and very white) projector beam halogens, the Rogue's HIDs are not projector beams...they're good...just not "oh wow I can't beleive what I've been missing" good.

The halogen high beams and fogs are pretty yellow compared to the HID lows though and I'll be swapping them with silverstars as soon as my budget permits.

That might be in the US but in Canada the SL AWD did not come with HID's and I am still looking for better bulbs but I see the Silverstars might be my best option.

I just installed Silverstar Ultras in the high beams. I have the HID lows, and think they're really good. The Silverstar don't look so white to me. Maybe at night on the road, but just looking at them, no.
