Actually most of the time it idles very smoothly. Periodically RPMs drop and the engine shudders for a second or two. Hard to say ..but perhaps it happens once a minute on average while Idling. Docent seem to be temp related. Winter is pretty benign here on so cal.

This is the only engine problem I've noticed. I've only had the car for a month, it has 50000 miles on it but has full warranty. any ideas?

If you have a well known mechanic you can trust maybe he can check it out for you. Or better yet since you guys just purchased the Rogue, bring it back and explain to them the situation. They should be able to look at it without an appointment. Remember you did them a favor by buying an 08 towards the end of the year, they should honor it.

That is definately not normal, your engine should run smooth and rpms should be consist at idle, gradually falling to 700 +/-50 once fully warm. Take it to the dealer, no question about it.
