Wink

I am averaging 27mpg and about 440 miles to the tank.... mostly half highway and city miles... city driving to go shopping and such and interstate to go to work. I am very happy with it... the gas milage on my element that i traded in, which had the same size fuel tank only got around 330 to a tank and 20-24 mpg...depending if its all interstate, etc. I will find out in a couple weeks when i driev to nashville how it will get on all interstate driving...and im taking it to the beach in august, so i will know more then too!!! YAH!!

Talking NOW we're talking!!

The gas was so cheap today that I could not resist fill the car earlier than scheduled.

Therefore, 722.4kms with 59.96l gives 8.3l/100kms (34.2 mpg).

NOW we're talking!!

It is more what I was looking for from this car.

I just have to change a little more my driving style and may be go slower on the highway, especially when it is windy (but this car has a so good engine, it is impressive), and I should go below the 8l/100kms.

Update in 10 days after the next fill up.

Talking 800kms on one fill

I have just hit the 800 kms mark on one fill!

66 liters later (and a bunch more in $), that means a 8.25l/100kms (28.5 mpg (the previous was in mpg imperial, my mistake)).

Still the same commuting but a lot of wind this week.
If I was at a little more normal speed on the highway (110-115 kph instead of 120), I should gain 0.5l/100kms (I gain 0.3l/100kms on the previous car by doing that).

But this car likes the speed, for sure. Always have to watch the speedometer to stay within speed limit. I barely touch the throttle, that is impressive.

MPG so far

I have owned my Rogue for a few months and now have 3K miles. I have only driven around town and am getting 21.6 on average. No highway yet. It was only getting about 19MPG until I got to 1K miles then it went up to 21.6. I hope to do better after its a little more broken in.

It looks like most are doing better then 21.6. However, I might mention "I can't seem to keep my hands off the Paddle Shifters" along with "Sprited Driving" this doesn't help the MPG's. In the automatic mode it always seems to want to bog a little and be in 6'th speed too fast. This keeps the RPM's lower and is probably better on gas but I like to rev it up more. I need to calm down until after a longer break in period but the CVT, Paddle Shifters and Bose Stereo make me want to Goooooooo !

REal world mileage

I drive 130 miles to work, starting in the high desert of Calif through some mountains and down to the Riverside area, all type of terrain. The elevation goes from 2600' to 6000 and back down to 2000.

I'm averaging 27-28 for that trip. When running around town I'm getting 23-24.

The CVT takes a bit of attention if one wants to get the most efficiency.

Cool Closing on the 30 mpg goal

With the gas price so high I decided to work on me and try something: Going 110-112kph (about 70mph) instead of 117-120kph (about 75mph).

Results: Went just below the 8l/100kms mark (797.4 kms with 63.7l) which means 495.5 miles with 16.8 gallons equals 29.44mpg.

By going 5-7 kph slower, I save about 0.3-0.4l/100kms. Increase air pressure in the tires, changing oil, air filter or whaterever else can not give you that much improvement.

The down side of this is the slow traffic going at 105-110 kph is harder to overtake, take a lot of time (especially trucks) and when you have a "previous me" behind wanting to go faster, it is not that fun.

Anyway, I will try to stick to it as long as I can, the 3 to 5 minutes more to commute doesn't bother me that much (more the not going faster).

Just put my second tank of gas in. So far getting 20.2 MPG. I hope it gets better! Only 400 miles.
Anyone have any suggestions on how you should break in?

Getting great gas milage

Hello all,
Well I just found this site today, but I probably have one of the older Rogues around. I got only the 5th one bought in my city (delivery in mid-October of 07). I already have over 12K on mine. I am getting about 30.2 mpg highway and about 25.7 doing city driving. I noticed a real change in the mileage I was getting when the car hit about 5K. For the new owners not getting the mileage they were hoping, I would say keep driving it will come. Also something I noticed is that the air filter on the Rogue seems to have a HUGE effect on the mileage, so make sure to keep it changed on schedule.
