Ed she looks like she's starting to get broke in by the elevated MPG. Is this an AWD Rogue?

Yeah, it's an AWD, but I think that last tank got a big boost from about 75 miles worth of 70mph parkway cruising at the last part of the tank, which is much better than my usual routine of city city city city city.

I'm currently getting 9.8 L/100km - that is with about 1200km on the Rogue so far. I put that into a calculator and it translates to about 24 mpg. I'm hoping that improves.

For the first 100 miles, I've only gotten up to 15.2 mpg per car computer. I'm assuming that the computer starts at zero and I need to work my way up. I've put all but 20 miles on the car so I know its been thru mostly city driving but still - I'm anxious for those numbers to climb!

Mpg

My car is SL FWD

Just got it, only have 280 miles on it. I reset it when I left the dealer with 25 miles. The computer reports 27mpg, about 75% around town, 25% highway @ 65mph.

I still have to wait to really check with a full tank, but if the computer is right, I'm pretty happy.

BTW, I'm liking the engine breaking with the paddle shifter, does anybody know (not just speculate) as to whether this will wear the tranny in comparison the the savings on replacing brakes?

Highway MPG

I do almost exclusively highway miles ( lots of them) and I've been averaging 22mpg. I do have to confess to somewhat of a leadfoot, I tend to run about 75+mph.
Oooops!!!

Re: the MPG questions.

I've been paying close attention to that issue since I purchased my Rogue. I now have 2,200 miles on the car. Getting a sense of the "correct" mileage is really tricky, since A/C on/off, outside temperature, 2WD vs. AWD, wind, hills etc. really play havoc on trying to calculate the car's actual MPG. I've written an extensive review of the Rogue for Epinions.com, in which, I devote a few inches to the car's MPG performance. If you're interested, please stop by and give it a read, and check a review evaluation if possible.
You'll find the review at:

Why I Bought a Nissan Rogue. - 2008 Nissan Rogue - Epinions.com

Enjoy your Rogue.

I'm presently at 19.7. But it's only a day old and I have to drive over a mountain to get to home.
Still, 19 MPG is double what my old vehicle got.

I must admit that, for now, I am a little disappointed by the fuel mileage of the Rogue.

In Canada, they advertise the car doing 31mpg city and 39 highway. In the reviews, they averaged 35mpg during their tests (and they usually do not care of the car as much as we do since they will give it back after the test).
It seems that in the US, they are more strict which lower results.
But at least with these better-than-real results, we can have the ecorebate

I also have to admit that I had a lot of expectations for this car as I previously owned a RAV4, 4 cyl, manual and I did 8l/100kms (35.5 mpg) during summer and 12l (23.7mpg) during winter.

As for now, with more than 2000kms on the odometer (I had it with just 10kms, impressive) with 110 kms on weekdays (about 75% highway, 15% city, 10% traffic jam ) I did on my last fill 9.4l/100kms (30.2 mpg), which would have be good for a 75%city 25% highway.

I thought that it may be my driving which was the cause of the problem (moving from a manual car to a automatic or CVT may not be so easy after all). So I change my driving style and we will see.

Tonight or tomorrow, I will have to fill it up again and for now, it seems to go well, I may succeed to reach the 800kms mark with one fill.

I am averaging 27mpg and about 440 miles to the tank.... mostly half highway and city miles... city driving to go shopping and such and interstate to go to work. I am very happy with it... the gas milage on my element that i traded in, which had the same size fuel tank only got around 330 to a tank and 20-24 mpg...depending if its all interstate, etc. I will find out in a couple weeks when i driev to nashville how it will get on all interstate driving...and im taking it to the beach in august, so i will know more then too!!! YAH!!
