Angry The Rogue is a.... MESS

I had a fender bender in my Rogue last friday and it wasnt a pretty thing... I thank god every day for the side curtain air bags, as they saved my 9 year old from being severely injured-per the police officers comments... got hit in the drivers rear door and quarter panel and my son was sitting on the drivers side (which isnt normal he is usually on the passenger side, but his booster seat got moved when i took one of his friends to school with him Friday morning) but, the door caved in to the edge of the rear seat and i looked back at impact and his head went right into the airbag- which without that would have went right through the window! The other car, at impact was estimated at 50-55 MPH. it broke the control arm on the drivers side rear, which is welded in place. The other car hit the back wheel hard enough to shove it back and in toward the passenger side..... I actually drove it to my house (less than 2 blocks away)!!! Lemme tell ya... it drove crooked as crap!! Worse than anything else i have drove that ended up being out of alignment, etc... the wheel, instead of being straight at 12 o'clock, wes striaght at about 7o'clock!! LoL They came and picked it up on a roll back to take it to the dealer to put it on the rack for the adjuster to get a better estimate. It was not totalled (i kinda wished it would have totalled it in a way, but not totalled in a way because of its *unique* color!!) But the adjuster just called me and the estimate is right at 8,500.00! Thank goodness for insurance!! I do have to say that the air bag in the seat didnt do alot for me that I could notice.... but i could be wrong depending on all the different crash scenarios that they were designed to help in.
My husband got a bruised knee out of the deal, and i was just a lil sore and my son walked away without a scratch!! I am at work, but will post pics when i get home!!

Wow! I'm so happy to hear everyone is ok. The more I hear stories about the side curtain air bags the more convinced I am that I'm going to start buying vehicles with them. I never have because they are always on the upper end models with stuff I really don't need but I think you'll agree that the extra cost is well worth it. This is one tough vehicle!

Glad that everyone is ok! I know from my recent experience of having my Rogue totaled, that side airbags are definitely a must have on any vehicle.
