| Hi Canuck,
Since the Xtrail was for Canada only, not the US, I don't know if you will have a lot of feedback on the differences between the two.
From what I read, since the Rogue replaces the Xtrail, it should be better in what the Xtrail was doing (principle of evolution, and I know, it is not always the case).
Big difference between the two, I think (correct me on that if not), is that the Xtrail is truck-based where the Rogue is car-based: Nissan used the chassis of the Sentra to do the Rogue (and the chassis of the Sentra is the same as the chassis of the Renault Megane, which is an excellent chassis).
Therefore, the Rogue should handle better, definitively car-like, but should be less at ease for off-roading (Can we make it a verb?).
I used to have a RAV4, concurrent of the Xtrail, and they don't compete on the same ground. I also test drive the Mazda Tribute of a friend of mine who just bought one, and I really prefer the way the Rogue handles. I made the tires screamed with the Mazda in corners where I corners with no problem with the Rogue.
Since most people use CUVs on roads instead of off-road (I am talking about real off-road, not gravel tracks), the Rogue is definitively the car to have.
I hope this helps. |
