2010 Rogue SL Muffler

Just purchased a new Rogue and found that the muffler is discolored. Dealer and Nissan representative said this is common. However, I found a neighbor with a new Rogue and their muffler is perfect. Has anyone else experienced this? Any suggestions on how to get this ugly appearance off my vehicle. By the way, I have 1, 950 miles on the vehicle and is 3 months old.

I'm wondering if you comparing 2010 rogue to 2008. Nissan painted mufflers in black color in 2008 only and then it started to be in aluminum color. So I don't know if this is what you was looking for.

If the chrome is discolored with blues and purples, then the metal may seem to look colored. That may be what you're seeing. It's a reaction in the metal when it's heated over and over again. The Dealer and Rep are correct when they say it's normal.

Bikers use a product called Blue-Job Chrome Polish, No-Scratch, Removes blueing and rust But seriously, it's gonna take a lot of buffing to get that show room new look, if at all.

Not a big concern. I would not worry.

Hey that's not a bad idea! I prefer shiny myself, but still that's a good tip.
