Roof Rack

Hi all. New member here. Here is my question. I just purchased the 2008 Rogue S model. Yes, it is the budget model. My question is since my Rogue does not have a roof rack installed at the time of purchase, would I be able to install the rack myself. Does the installation actually gave screws into the roof. I did notice my Rogue does have two black plastic pieces the length of the vehicle which i think might have something to do with the installation of the rack. Please advise, if it is possible to install the rack myself if i purchased through NIssan.l Thanks in advance, Brooklynman.:

You could probably do it. But be advised.......warantees would probably be compromised. If you decide to do it, measure, measure, and then measure again. Hold tight to your drill...they tend to wander off if you're not careful. Good luck. Keep us posted.

Several people have ask it already and unfortunately for you, it seems that is not possible to put the roof racks on the S model (that is definitively something they should say when you buy one).

You cannot even buy the roof racks at Nissan's or in an aftermarket seller.

The solution for you if you need to transport something on the roof will be to buy yakima or thule roof racks and roof bars. That is black and not that much aesthetic but that will do the job.

Sorry for the bad news, but keep digging, I may be wrong.
