Not sure if this is 'external' or 'electrical' but I just had my first problem with the Rogue. One of the fobs wouldn't lock or unlock the doors. Sometimes it would and sometimes it wouldn't. Called the dealer service dept. and they said it was probably the battery in the fob and I should go to the parts dept. and have them put in a new battery. The parts dept. said they would have to charge me for the battery but it should be covered under the warrantee if I took it to the service dept. Took the fob to the service dept. and they said they would have to have both fobs to 'reprogram' them. Whewwwww!! Finally got it taken care of but remember to: TAKE BOTH FOBS if that goofy intellikey malfunctions. Reprogramming takes about 45 minutes.

This is true!!! When re-programming remotes on nissan vehicles you need ALL the remotes you have plus the car!! When the technician starts the programming process, it erases all the stored remote signals in the body control module. So you need to re-store the signals in the BCM. You are actually programming the car to accept the signal that the remote sends out. Just wanted to clarify!!
