no help from Nissan...

here is the latest post from the other forum on our
dirt under the doors scratching problem...read it
and weep.....

This member posted:
"Just got off the phone with the regional rep. To paraphrase; Nissan realizes there is a problem with all 08 Rogues. There is however no permanent solution to the problem. There is also no temporary solution. Therefore Nissan WILL NOT DO ANYTHING TO FIX THE PROBLEM AT THIS TIME!!! Yes you read it right Nissan won't do anything to help us out. I specifcally mentioned the temp fix of the clear Bra and all the rep did was repeat his same statement. I have placed a call to dealer to see if they will do anything on there own, out of pocket so to speak, I'll have to find out. I guess my next call is to the better business line for mediation. Everyone please keep on Nissan to fix this. Nissan needs to at least pay for a temporary fix till they resolve the issue."

Just because they don't have a fix today doesn't mean that there won't be one. Think about it, the last thing they want is a bunch of vehicles rusting out so patience is the word of the day. People need to keep reporting it to the dealership, taking pictures to document the severity and progress of the defect and here's the contact info for Nissan.

Contact Information Please contact us if you have questions about Nissan, Nissan vehicles, or Nissan dealers.

Things don't happen over night and like I said every issue with the 04 Titan from bed liner fade to front brake issues were taken care of by Nissan.

Update: current status....

Here is the latest post from the other forum...at
least it sounds promising. Here is the post:

Update:
Fortunately my Service Manager has been great to deal with. I spoke in length with him today after the Regional Service Rep meeting he attended. Here is what I know:

1. Nissan is aware of the problem and reports are starting to come in now that the snow has gone and owners are washing thier vehicles only to discover the problem.

2. The complaints have been coming mainly from dark colored vehicles as it's more noticeable.

3. Nissan is working on a solution to the problem. Possibly a redesigned weatherstripping made from softer material that seals better. He said not to expect anything quickly. It may be several months before a fix is available.

4. He offered to re-paint the affected area. The option was mine, but he recommended to wait and see what Nissan comes up with first. I have opted to wait and see.

5. They readjusted the front door latches and hinges (under warranty) as it appears the door is dropping slightly when opened. This may be contributing to the issue as the door is moving up/down when opened or closed.

I said I would contact him in a few weeks to see if any progress has been made.

Once again, I must stress that complaints are slowly coming in. It's important for everyone to bring this issue to the dealer's attention so Nissan realizes it's a widespread issue! Then hopefully we can get some action quickly.

Hmmmmm, sounds familiar. Door adjustment, new seal, Nissan is working on it and will fix it.

All is well in Nissan land as I knew it was. The thing I like about you Gibby is you're pro active. Rather then sitting around whining, creating a bunch of drama, you take actions to prevent further damage, report the defect to the appropriate people and then share the problem and in your case, an acceptable solution too. Awesome!

...thanks my friend, I try.... I'm watching to see
IF the clear-bra strips will be a long term fix or
just a temporary one?? Depending on this out-
come, and, just what the fix is from Nissan will
determine what I end up doing.....so far, the
clear-bra strips are doing just fine, they do not
seem to be getting any noticeable scratches
that I can tell. I, at least, can now wait Nissan
out without further damage.....

Sorry for the Delay Guys...I made my complaint to Nissan and they took several pictures and they said that it would take around 4 to 6 months before nissan does anything...but they will fix it he said...
I told him about the forum and told him that there are numerous complaints...
he told me not to worry and just enjoy the vehicle.
it also helps that i have a family member working for nissan so my opinion will be voiced..
Ill keep everyone posted in the weeks to come

Glad to hear it and please don't think I was taking this lightly because I really do know how it feels when it's your $20,000 + vehicle that has a problem.

Good news... for new owners

I read the whole thread and then I returned to my car, anxious to see where I was with this.
When I opened the door... Ouff, they did something to it.

They solve the problem by putting plastic stripes on the threshold of the car, front and back doors.

I forgot to take pictures during the weekend, but I will try to do it tonight and show you the changes.

I hope that now, they will call you back or at least do the improvement at the next oil change.
