For the 2nd time in 6 months my rogue would not start. It will crank and sound like its missing or timing is off and never start. IT takes up to 5 hours before it will start again. I tried using the key, taking the gas cap off and on, nothing works. The 1st time it happened I had it towed to the dealer but they didn't look at it till the next day, so it started right up and they said they could not find anything wrong with it.
I would think that if it doesn't start and misses that this should be recorded in the computer somewhere, since this is not normal.
Anyone else have this problem?

Have you checked your battery cables? The OEM ends are known to crack with age or an over zealous Mechanic/Owner........I cracked one of mine when I changed the battery and it became intermittent.

Yes all is good, I called Nissan and open an incident, they asked me to send the diagnostic check to them and they would have someone look into it and contact me. But from what the dealer states is if a light is not on nothing will show up.

Is the engine cranking over?

When you turn ignition just before starting the vehicle, do you see the green key on the dash?

When the problem occurs, is your gas tank close to empty?

Last time you changed your air filter? Are you close to the maintenance interval of changing your sparkplugs?

Everything is normal, K&N air filter is only 6 months old, gas is always at 3/4 tank, all lights are normal. It just cranks but not normal, acts like its missing.
It gets started the same way everyday, all maintainence has been done on it by Nissan. I tried starting it an hour later same result. I let it sit overnight and in the morning it started right up. It only has about 21,000 on it.

Interesting.. It is extremely difficult to diagnose a start problem unless it can be duplicated or an out of range is registered with the computer. Since the PCM/ECM isn't registering an out of range fault, I would start with that.

All I can suggest is that next time it happens, have it towed to your dealership and insist they scan the PCM right away.

Yep, my thoughts exactly, the only problem is both times it was on a Sunday when this happened. Now the back windows with not go up all the time, never a good idea to buy the first year of anything, but this was the only year they made the color I wanted, orange.

My $0.75 (inflation) sounds like: Fuel filter(clogged)/gas pump or fuel injector(s) problem.
