Well, I'm 62, same as my IQ. I remember my Dad buying gas for 27.9. He refused to buy at the Esso station, always feeling that Big Oil (and everyone else) was out to cheat him. So he'd drive 5 miles to the Hess station in East Orange.

He would drive around NYC looking for a parking meter with time on it. He didn't want to give the city the nickel it cost to park for an hour. We used to to go NYC to get caps for our cap guns because the People's Republik of NJ didn't sell them. I always though the Holland and Lincoln tunnels were cool.

In 1975 when I bought my Gold Wing (for $1,995) gas was 42.9 and the bike got 43 mpg so I said it cost me a penney a mile to drive it. Photo shows The Rodentwoman and the Gold Wing in Sonoita AZ. If you know that area, this was before the fire that destroyed the restaurant. It's been rebuilt.

Just to update the repair of my fuel gauge. The new fuel gauge cluster didn't fix the problem. However I mentioned to them that I had read on an internet forum that several people had the same problem and they repaired it with a software update to the computer module. At first they told me that there was no update, but later checked on the internet and sure enough they found not only the solution to the problem, but the number of the Service Bulletin. They got the update from Nissan and updated my computer module. PRESTO....The fuel gauge works perfect now. If anyone has this problem tell them about the software update and insist that they search for it. I can't believe that they spent thousands of dollars on parts and labor before they tried the simple software update. But then again, they were never advised by Nissan Technical Services about the Service Bulletin.
hmmm... something to think about. looks like

I'm starting to get the feeling Nissan's service departments aren't being kept informed. I did a search for recalls on the 2011 Rogue and found this:

Nissan is recalling 7,365 2011 Rogues because of a defect in the electric power assist system, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

"The circuit board may not have been installed in the correct position on certain electric power steering assist control units," said NHTSA in its recalls summary of the problem. "This may cause additional stress on the solder of the terminal to the circuit board, resulting in the solder cracking and separating completely from the circuit board.

"As the circuit board fails, the power steering assist feature will stop functioning, increasing the force needed to steer the vehicle and increasing the risk of a crash."

The recalled Rogues were built August 17, 2010 through October 30, 2010.

Mine was built in Sept., smack in the middle of the recall date. I checked my local dealer and they weren't familiar with the recall.

My gas gauge is not at all accurate. I am used to it now. It does give me a full indication. It is just that it stays full even after I have driven 125 miles or more before it moves. It is not anything I worry about, I just do not let it get too low.
