| K&N air filter for our Rogues.... ok y'all.....there is probably alot of you out there that are like me....you are waiting on K&N to make a performance air filter for our Rogues.....well, wait no longer, they make one, its just not listed in their catalog as yet, our car is too new. Here's what I did...... Purolator makes a replacement stock air filter for our Rogues, its part# A24675. Now, take that part number and go to K&N's site and use their cross-reference utility.....it comes back with their K&N part number 33-2036 ...walla! Just to give you the "warm fuzzy", people on the other Rogue forum state that its made for our Rogues, they've installed it on theirs... AJ-USA sells this K&N air filter for $32.50 including the FedEx ground shipping..... ![]()

| Is this a dry or oiled filter?

| all K&N's are oiled.....and just in case people are going to bring up the rumor/myth about the oil from the K&N's messing up the mass air sensor, read the following exerpt from the official K&N site: Every stock replacement air filter we sell comes with this sticker, which we advise consumers to place prominently on their air box. The sticker is to alert service technicians that they should not throw away your K&N air filter because it will last for the life of your vehicle. When service technicians see this sticker it means “STOP SELLING THIS CUSTOMER DISPOSABLE AIR FILTERS OVER AND OVER.” In our opinion, this is why some dealerships or service providers may attempt to discourage a consumer from using a K&N air filter or worse blame a vehicle repair on our lifetime air filter. Most dealerships provide excellent service and fulfill car warranty obligations without issue, argument or tardiness. The rest of this discussion is about a minority of dealerships who are either misguided or misinformed. We are aware of the “urban myth” (K&N News Story) created by a few dealerships that a vehicle's MAF sensor can be contaminated by K&N filter oil. No evidence has ever been provided to support this “myth” and three years of diagnostic testing by K&N has shown that not only is this allegation not real, it is not even possible. In our opinion, it is an excuse for a dealership and/or the vehicle manufacturer to avoid a legitimate warranty repair. In the last 4 years, we have sold over 10,000,000 lifetime air filters and received only a few hundred calls from consumers who are having dealership or service provider challenges. We believe that Dealership's or service provider's real incentive may be to discourage the use of reusable products so they can sell disposable products over and over. In order to provide consumers with added comfort that they will not be placed in a bad position by a improper warranty denial, we offer our Consumer Protection Pledge.

| People have and do over oil them and have fouled the Maf but they are easy to clean. That's the one thing I liked about the Fram Air Hog it changed color when you oiled it so you didn't over oil it. Pretty trick if you ask me.

| I think they are probably even as far as performance goes. I Liked the Air hog for two reasons. 1, I could get it and the cleaning kit from Walmart and 2, as stated above, it changes color when it's properly oiled so even a dufus like me can't screw it up.

to use K&N...I've never tried an Air Hog but not because of any kind of preference.....the changing of color when properly re-oiled would be kinda handy....

| I did some research on the internet and found a really interesting website: Honeywell Consumer Products Group - Application Look-up When you research you car, it gives you all the P/Ns for Bendix and Fram. But more interestingly, by clicking on the P/N, it gives you also (almost) all the P/Ns of the competition. Other interesting thing, it gives you on which other cars you can find this product. Like that, on websites that are no uptodate yet with the Rogue, you can still find if their products can fit in it. With that and searching through other forums, I found that K&N filters filter only around 90% of the dirt when paper filters filter almost 100%. But still, I want to find a way not to pollute more than I do already and find a filter which lasts as long as the car, therefore not a paper one. I found that it exists now some oil-free non paper filters that can do that. Do you know what they worth? AEM produces one, but unfortunetaly, not for our car or affiliates. But I found that Advanced Flow Engineering produces one for us (advanced FLOW engineering : Product Search v3. and search for Nissan 300ZX). Do you have any feedback on this product or on this kind of product? |

See now you've graduated to my realm and there is only one dry filter on the market worth having and it's made by Donaldson Corporation and it's what called a Nano Fiber Filter. Currently there are only two manufacturers that carry these filters and that's Amsoil and Volant and if you can wait until they have them for the Rogue I highly recommend it. Here's a link to info including a PDF from Donaldson Corp. Dry Nano Fiber Air Filter Technology
