2011 rogue awd - rear defrost

Hello everyone. Just purchased a 2011 Rogue AWD. The dealership installed at my request a excellent remote starter (Viper) and I had asked them to ensure they programmed the rear defrost. I did get a chance to test this but had time this week and when I started the car using the remote start key fob, I then pressed the buttons that would be used if the rear defrost was programmed. Nothing. I called the dealership and the fellows there tell me that before I shut the Rogue off, that I DO NOT turn the rear defrost off. By doing this when I start the Rogue the rear defrost is supposed to be on. I keep telling the dealership that it does not work like this and in my other truck, this method does not work. I am wrong in this assumption? Any help would be helpful

Many thanks
Dyno

I think they are correct. The Viper is an aftermarket alarm and they only have options like roll down windows trunk opener and remote start aside from the regular functions of an alarm. That I know of theres no alarm that controls defrost or a/c for that matter. If you need the defrost, radio, heat or a/c to automatically turn on when you hit the remote start button, then you need to leave those functions on before you shut your car off.

Sorry no, that won't work either for the rear defroster, unless it's the older kind with a manual switch. On current models, once you turn the vehicle off, the rear defroster is reset to off.

Come to think of it, I haven't checked if my 08 stays on either.
