| Here's how it's done on at least the Altima and the Titan. Servicing the Altima
Nissan recommends three maintenance guidelines according to driver preference: Premium Maintenance, Schedule 1 and Schedule 2. Premium Maintenance is a Nissan-recommended option that is suitable for all driving habits and local conditions. According to the Altima owners manual, “Nissan developed Premium Maintenance for owners who want the ultimate in preventative maintenance.” With Premium Maintenance, more items are regularly checked and replaced than with Schedule 1 or Schedule 2.
Schedule 1 features the same service intervals as Premium Maintenance; however, with Schedule 1 fewer maintenance items are regularly checked or replaced than with Premium Maintenance. Nissan recommends Schedule 1 if vehicles are operated in short trips of less than five miles in normal temperatures (or 10 miles in freezing temperatures); stop-and-go traffic in hot weather or low-speed driving for long distances; driving in dusty conditions or on rough, muddy or salt-spread roads; or towing a trailer or using a camper/car-top carrier.
Schedule 2 features longer service intervals, and fewer maintenance items are regularly checked or replaced than with Schedule 1. Nissan recommends Schedule 2 only for “highway driving in temperate conditions.” Premium Maintenance Every 3,750 miles:
