| I just had my Rogue pulled out by a neighbor, after a 1 mile hike home in blowing snow and -15 degree wind chills.
We don't get a lot of snow and ice, just enough for things to get tricky for 2 wheel drives. Tonight I was headed up a slight incline in a turn and lost traction. First I tried without AWD lock - no luck. I turned on the AWD lock and every attempt to go forward caused my rear end to slip and the car started to crab sideways. I tried to cut the wheels and back down the incline but started a new slide and ended up off the shoulder in a snow bank.
Long story short; a neighbor pulled me out with his Chevy 4X4. Now back in the road, I was stuck again! My neighbor said I had four wheels turning, but not all at the same time - not like you would have with a low lock transfer case. He pulled me out again. It was a bit of a spectacle, with a couple of neighbors driving around us in regular front wheel drive cars.
To think I got the Rogue because I always worried about getting stuck in a front wheel drive Jetta - which NEVER actually got stuck. I guess I'm back in the old Dodge truck for now. :-/ |
