The cabin air filter is not so well placed for a DIY but you can still do it:
It is on the driver side, in the center console, close to the accelerator pedal.
You have to remove the side panel to get access to it. It is said in the FSM that you have to disconnect the gas pedal to access it but in reality, most people reached it without doing that, just by bending the filter a bit.

I have yet to do it, so let us know how it went.
