It is February 17th and we FINALLY just got the noise fixed in our car. We too had the grinding problem since we purchased the car in January 2008. We too had the dealership check out the problem everytime we took it in for an oil change. We too got the runaround "the noise is normal, deal with it", "we can't duplicate the noise", "nissan is working on a fix and it will be available early 2009", etc.

We had enough and contacted the Lemon Law people in our state. Would you believe that within 5 days from contacted the Lemon Law company we received a call from the dealership and they now had a fix for our car?

We had a new transaxle installed on February 3rd and we are waiting for a check from Nissan for our time and inconvienence.

Since this problem has been fixed, we seemed to have lost the downhill assist feature? Cool feature, but I would much rather not have the noise.

We are in the process now of getting the downhill feature back and I will let you know how I make out.
