Here we go again with the dino vs synthetic..

I do believe that synthetic oil does reduce wear
and extend engine life over and above dino oil.....I
do believe that the "true" 15k mile synthetic oil,
thought it is the best, is not good for a catalytic
converter over time....I do believe that the best
of both worlds is the "semi-true" synthetic of
Royal Purple, that should be changed every 7500
miles for optimum performance and does not harm
catalytic converters. (and Royal Purple costs no
more than Mobil 1)

That said, if Mobil 1 and all the others were
changed at the proper intervals, the difference in
wear and longevity ratings between them and the
true and semi-true synthetics would be minimal...

....(IMHO....) to each his own.....if you are still
not sure, do what Squid did, get it tested...
